Replaced the heating element - purchased it from you. Unable to get the heater box to properly seat with the air duct. Upon inspection, the section of the heater box closest to the air duct has been intentionally misshapen - assumed to have happened by previous owner/repair tech. Noted accumulation of dryer lint at base of air duct when heater box removed - probably was not seated correctly for a long time. Actually, back end of heater box dropped as soon as I started to remove heating element cover plate. Now, I am unable to properly seat the heater box. What are my options? The heater box for my dryer has been discontinued from the manufacturer per your web site.

Hello Valerie. The only option you have is trying to repair the duck on the unit or purchase a new dryer. You can try reforming the sheet metal on the unit.

Dryer is not heating but has power to dryer. Removed heater box and checked continuity of heating element, thermal cut off and 250 F thermostat installed in heater box. Continuity is fine. This leads me to believe heating element, and thermostats are not bad. Trying to reinstall heater box having extreme difficulty. It appears heater box slips over air duct and is held in place by 1 screw bracket and in metal frame of bracket to floor of dryer. Is there a trick to reinstalling heater box? I am working from front lower panel of dryer. I have not removed drum at this point. However it looks like I may have to remove top and drum to install heater box over air duct. Is there a better way to install heater box? Not sure where to continue trouble shooting dryer heating problem since heating element and thermostat's do not test bad.

Hello Jim. There is a tab that slips in the back heater duct to install the element housing. Now you will need to trace the voltage and see where your losing it at. It may be the control board in the unit.

Hello Joseph, When you push the heater box assembly into position, the Heater Box Bracket is screwed onto position at the front of the heater box. If there is a place for a screw in the rear, you can now install it. If not, the heater box bracket will hold the heater box in position.

Joseph, The heater box W10802681 usually isn't removed from the dryer, the heater and thermostats can be removed without removal of the heater box. But the heater box is inserted into the opening in the inlet duct, the tab serves two purposes, it keeps the heater box from intruding into the inlet duct and causing an air flow, heat problem. The tab has a hole so there can be a self tapping screw installed if needed. Once you remove power and the lower front panel Remove the hex-head screw from the heater shield and remove the shield. Remove the two wires from the terminal block. Remove the hex-head screw from the heater housing, and slide the heater out of the duct. Disconnect the wires from the high limit thermostat or the thermal cutoff. Remove the two hex-head screws.Once you have removed the heater assembly from the box, there is a single 1/4 inch, hex head screw in the bottom of the box, the attaches the box to the support, remove the screw and you can slide the box out of the cabinet.
