Brad for Model Number 11023812100 Washer won't spin. Kenmore 80 series model # 11023812100 Washer won't spin for either rinse cycle or spin cycle. If you hear it enter either the rinse or spin cycle the motor strains and it will not spin until you turn the power off and then back on with either the lid switch or timer switch. I inspected the coupler, replaced the transmission, replaced the clutch (includes brake cam) and most recently removed the lid switch and replaced with a jumper for troubleshooting. With the lid switch removed I have been able to observe several cycles (same symptoms in Ultra clean or Permanent press modes). When it is in a spin cycle (and not spinning) if you turn off the power you see the tub move just a bit as if the brake was released. Is the brake engagement completely mechanical? Is the brake possible sticking? When I replaced the transmission there was a good bit of oil splattered around and coffee ground looking particles on the top side of the transmission. What should I trouble shoot next? Brake, timer switch, motor or other electrical component??? Please help?
Answer Hello Brad. Motor has to change direction. Sounds like the timer is sticking on the contact and jamming the motor. Check and see and if so, replace the timer. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, November 8, 2013
