Jim C for Model Number KitchenAid KUDS30IXBL8 I have a Kitchen Aid dishwasher that I have replaced the chopper assembly on. The dishwasher works fine for several cycles and then the chopper assembly will clog. We are not doing anything different than we did for the previous years of operation with the original chopper assembly. Thoughts? I ordered a new circulation pump but don’t want to install it unnecessarily.
Answer Jim, It's not likely you'll need a circulation motor or another chopper blade(as long as you installed it properly). You will want to check for a proper water level and temperature at the bottom of the tub. Start the dishwasher, let it fill and wash for a minute or two then unlatch the door, and remove the lower rack. the water level should cover the top of the filter assembly(approximately 3/4 to 1 in. in-depth and should measure 120 dgrs.F. If there's not enough water, or if the water isn't hot enough, the pump won't circulate properly and the debris will have a tendency to "clog up the works". Thanks, Read More...
