Christopher I replaced the food chopper assembly on my Kitchenaid dishwasher and at the start of the first wash there is a loud humming sound. I took everything apart and reassembled and all appears to be in the proper place but the sound continues.
Answer Hello Christopher, you did not mention why the chopper assy needed to be replaced. It attaches to the front of the wash pump motor impeller, At the start of a wash cycle the drain pump should run briefly then water fills then the wash pump starts. When the noise starts are the spray arms turning with water circulation noise, indicating the wash pump is running. If not something may be jamming the wash motor impeller and the motor is trying to run. If the spray arms are turning with water circulation then this may indicate another problem in th wash motor assembly. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, May 6, 2020
