Rex for Model Number WTW4800XQ0 Hello, I have been watching many of your troubleshooting videos. My Whirlpool top load washer after working great for years suddenly will not go to final high speed spin near the end of the cycle. Clothes remain soaked. It works fully with the basket empty, but will not spin out on high speed with clothes still in the basket. Thanks for any help you can provide. RK
Answer Rex, with the power supply cord unplugged, the motor WPW10006415 would need to be tested from the main control using the connection J16. From pin 6 to pin 5, then from pin 7 to pin 5, there would be a resistance reading between 3.5O to 6O. If the windings test good, and the spin basket rotates freely without any indications of grinding, the failure could be in the shifter or in the main control. The shifter WPW10006355 optics can be tested by reconnecting the wires, plugging the power cord in and starting a tachometer verification mode in the diagnostic mode. When rotating the spin basket at this time, the status LEDs should illuminate one at a time. If this checks good, then the failure would be in the main control W10745340. Read More...
