Gaines for Model Number WSF26C2EXY02 The ice maker stopped making ice. Using the refrigerator diagnostics, I verified the ice container was working correctly. In looking at the ice maker, it wasn't initiating a harvest. I replaced the ice maker (AP6017832), but it still isn't filling or harvesting. Is it possible the control board is at fault? How do I check that the ice maker is getting voltage from the control board?
Answer Gaines, it would be recommended that the freezer temperature be verified as reaching 0°F with a thermometer. If it does not reach proper temperature, the ice maker will not harvest. To test the voltage to the ice maker, the black wire with white stripe at connection P3 pin 3 of the control can be tested for 120VAC. If voltage is present, the main control is good and the voltage directly at the ice maker would need to be tested with the door switch taped shut, and the ice bin sensors having clear line of sight to each other.
