Ken for Model Number JGS8860BDP17 The oven heats up to temp and holds that temp most times, but at odd times the burner does not come on and the temp drops way out of set range this is in bake mode. In convection, it does the same thing works sometimes and sometimes not. What could cause this?
Answer Ken, being a gas "slide-in" range and based on your description, the most likely issue is a weak bake burner igniter 74007498 / 74007498 Oven Igniter. A weak igniter can and will cause the safety valve to operate intermittently if the proper amperage and voltages aren't achieved during the burner ignition process. You might also have an issue with the 12001655 / 12001655 Oven Temperature Sensor, but that is less likely than a weak igniter at this point. Thanks, Read More...
