Todd for Model Number MAH4000AWW

Neptune washer does not go into high speed spin at spin cycle. Water pumps out fine. Tumbles left and right several times and then ends spin cycle. Door locks. Door wax motor replaced a few years ago, control board has no burnt components (replaced with wax motor). Removing connector JP4 and testing allows drum to spin at 50 rpm. Jumped unbalance switch but it still doesn't spin out. Voltage across tub displacement switches is within what I was told is an acceptable range. Tried running diagnostics included with schematic. Seem to have the newer motor/motor control board. Doesn't have the individual wires to disconnect to test each phase as detailed in diagnostics. Hate to buy motor control board if that's not the problem. Any other checks, or does it look like the motor control board? Thanks

Answer

Hello Todd, Check the left rear strut for a micro-switch. This switch was discontinued by Maytag and if it is present on your unit you need to cut the wires to it and splice them together to eliminate the switch from the circuit. Next, make sure the two blue wires are making good connection to the front bottom switch. The next step is to check the electrical connections to the machine control board in the control panel. A lost connection is the most common failure in this model line.
