Mdb for Model Number MEDE500VW1 I was getting a ERROR message on Dryer that said F70. This dryer was bought in 2011, Should Maytag Dryers Last longer? We had the matching Washer and it got to expensive to fix. Anyway back to the dryer the manual said there was no communication between the electronic assemblies. I checked the harness connections on both assemblies and they looked ok. How can I tell if the parts need to be replaced? The manual suggested replacing them both but the parts alone are very expensive. The part numbers are W10174746 (which possible could be the bad one) the other part W10246787. Thanks and any help you can provide would be great.
Answer MDB, The probability of both control boards being inoperable is very, very slight. The more likely issue is the "machine control board" WPW10174746, has failed due to a voltage spike or weak solder joint. It's more susceptible to damage than the user interface control. Read More...
