Duwayne for Model Number 11097721701 I have a Kenmore dryer model 11097721701. I bought it June 22, 2009. Tonight, my wife put clothes in it turned it on and heard a weird sound.. like popping. She came and told me something wasn't right. A few minutes later I went to check it and the laundry room was full of smoke. The Electric Control Board part number W10174746. It is completely fried. Part of it burned up. Have you heard of this happening? If I hadn't taken the night off, my wife would have turned on the dryer and headed to bed. My house would have burned down. Worried about this dryer now. Want to replace this part but concerned if this is a common problem with this dryer.Thanks.. D
Answer Hello DuWayne. No, it is not common for the control board to burn up in these units, but it does happen from time to time. If it didn't damage anything other than the board, then you should be fine with just replacing the board on the unit. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, January 20, 2016
