Jamie Replaced the control board on a Whirlpool Duet Sport after a failed solder finally stopped working. Now there is no power to the dryer at all. Could this be a faulty new board or did something burn out internally? I saw marks that it had sparked on the metal shelf the control board is screwed onto. Fuse box is fine, nothing tripped but there’s no power at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Answer Jamie, based on the information provided, there could certainly have been further impact when the sparking occurred as this would be a short to ground. With the appliance unplugged, the wires will need to be inspected for any damaged sections. The main control can also be tested to identify if it is receiving 120VAC. However, if the model number could be provided in a new inquiry, this will allow for the most accurate information to be presented. Read More...
