Hello Chuck, dryer cycle times are determined by the main control board as it sees the wet clothes hitting the sensor bars. The initial time shown is an estimated time based on previous cycle times with the same selection and clothes load, estimated time can change and be shorter or longer as the board recalculates this during the cycle. If you also have the Wrinkle Shield option selected that will add 60-90 minutes of unheated tumbling at the end of the normal cycle.
