Tina for Model Number ev171nyms03 I figure my thermostat has failed as the compressor runs without turning off, unless I turn it down. Then it turns off for a bit but comes back on and stays on. The door had been left open on a couple different occasions. Is replacing the thermostat on a vertical freezer easy? Any how to video or instructions would be nice.
Answer Hello Tina. Yes, you will need to replace the thermostat. We do not have a video at this time. To replace the part, disconnect the power and remove the knob from the thermostat. Then remove the 2 screws and bracket. Pull out old thermostat. Make sure the new capillary tube on the new thermostat gets installed into the same location as the old one. Read More...
