Carrie for Model Number RS22AQXFW00 I am attempting to replace the auger motor. I am to the point of removing the coupler off the motor shaft. I am replacing that too since the old one is rusted and stuck. I am trying to turn it clockwise to remove it as a video showed. The motor shaft turns in both directions. Any hints on how else to get it loose? I've tried holding the shaft with needlenose plier while I turn the coupler with vice grip pliers.
Answer Hello Carrie, I normally rack it with my adjustable wrench to break it loose fro the shaft. Of course you can use a hammer but you just have to hit it in the direction to unscrew it from the shaft and it will normally thread off easily unless the shaft or coupler has stripped. Read More...
