Barbara D for Model Number Motor Coupling Part Number: AP4363997 Manufacturer's Part Number: W/whirlpool-motor-coupling-w10169511- Watched the video for replacing the motor coupling and my coupling has not nut. It is built in to the piece and there is no metal nose. There is no place to grab and turn it with a wrench. It spins freely and will not respond to turning to take it off. we can pull out the whole cover, but how to you remove the coupler if it has no nut?
Answer Barbara, If the coupling is just turning in place they it will be difficult to get it off. The way to do this would be to take out the motor housing and wedge stuff under the coupling. Once you have it wedged you will need to use a hammer to tap it off. If unable to get it off then you can also just put the new coupling on the shaft unless you need to replace the motor then you will need to wedge and tap off. It does come off counterclockwise.
