Phil for Model Number rc224rd magic chef My ice maker will only work if I dump a glass of water in it. It will then make a batch of ice and that's it until you add a another glass of water? What would it be?
Answer Hello Phil, Sounds like the water valve 12001414 has failed. If this is the case the fill tube to the icemaker will normally be frozen up. If it is, thaw it out with a hair dryer. It is also possible that the icemaker D7824706Q could have a burned set of contacts and is not sending the voltage to the water valve but this is less likely. Read More...
