Demian for Model Number AP3131673 Regarding this string below, will there be instructions included about removing the ice maker? And I assume the water needs to be shut off? Does the entire icemaker need to be removed to replace the Bearing (AP3131673)? Also, does the metal arm simply snap into the hole? We broke the plastic piece that holds the arm. Asked by Demian for Model Amana AFD2535DES Hello Demian. Yes, you will need to remove the icemaker from the freezer to install the bearing AP3131673. The arm does snap out and into the bearing assembly. This repair is much easier with the icemaker out of the freezer. Hope this helps.
Answer Hello Demian. To remove the ice maker, you will need to pull out the freezer door and lift the door off the unit. Then remove the basket in the top of the freezer. Next remove the screw under the bottom of the ice maker and loosen the two 1/4" screws at the top supports of the ice maker. Lift up on the ice maker and slide it off the screws. Unplug the wires going to the ice maker. You can now replace the bearing WP628356 on the unit. Reinstall in reverse order. Hope this helps. Read More...
