Fitz for Model Number LDE6914ACE What is the purpose of the cut-off-T switch in this Maytag Dryer the dryer runs and just keep getting hotter & hotter replace the hi limit thrr. but that did not solve the problem looking to replace the cut-0ff-T switch since everything else check out ok wanted to double check before ordering part. Answer Fitz, The "thermal cut offs" WP307473 WP307473 (your dryer has two, one on the blower housing and one on the heater housing) are "one shot" fuses, if the circuit "opens" due to an over heat issue, the dryer won' start or heat. It's not likely a thermal fuse/cut off issue. At this point, you'll need to check the heater element, and make sure it's not shorted to ground, and remaining partially energized, and heating. Also test the cycling thermostat, a "closed" circuit across the two large, bottom terminals, and a resistance of 2400 ohms across the two small center terminals.
