Robert August 24, 2015 for Model Number LDE882 Hi, I can't find where the thermal fuse is located in any of the diagram or in the dryer itself...need some help, the air from the dryer is not heating up.
1 Answer Hello Robert. You need to test the thermostat WP303396 and the element WPY313538 on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Diana August 17, 2014 for Model Number Ap4037135 Wondering if this ap4037135 part, cut -off-t is the right part for my maytag se1000 series 06 unit? The dryer runs...no heat? Cleaned the vents...can you help? Thanks
1 Answer Diana, You will want to check the hi limit thermostat on the unit which is part number WP303396. The thermal fuse would cause the entire dryer to not operate. Read More...
Eric May 04, 2014 for Model Number LDE612 My dryer seems to keep running well after the clothes are dry, even when the auto dry level is set relatively to the low side. Not sure what parts to start replacing.
1 Answer Eric, Normally when the unit continues to run after the clothes are dry and does not shut off then the issue would most likely be the timer that is faulty. Read More...
Bubbleboy July 10, 2013 for Model Number DG712 - series 02 I am working on a Maytag gas dryer DG712. It only heats when it wants to for brief 10 minute cycles...not consistent except that it stops heating at some point in a cycle.
1 Answer BubbleBoy, Hopefully the issue is a weak set of gas valve coils, 279834, You'll want to start the dryer on a heat setting/cycle and allow it to run 10 or 15 minutes, the remove the success panel in the right front corner and observe the gas valve operation. The glow bar should glow for 30 or so seconds, start to fade and the gas burner should ignite. If the burner doesn't ignite, suspect the gas valve coils. If all's ok, you'll have to suspect the Y305945 control switch. There are two momentary contact circuits in the switch, if they get stuck closed, the dryer can quit heating, and in some cases the dryer won't shut off at the end of the cycle. Read More...
Fitz April 10, 2013 for Model Number LDE6914ACE What is the purpose of the cut-off-T switch in this Maytag Dryer the dryer runs and just keep getting hotter & hotter replace the hi limit thrr. but that did not solve the problem looking to replace the cut-0ff-T switch since everything else check out ok wanted to double check before ordering part. Thanks In Advance Fitz
1 Answer Fitz, The "thermal cut offs" WP307473 WP307473 (your dryer has two, one on the blower housing and one on the heater housing) are "one shot" fuses, if the circuit "opens" due to an over heat issue, the dryer won' start or heat. It's not likely a thermal fuse/cut off issue. At this point, you'll need to check the heater element, and make sure it's not shorted to ground, and remaining partially energized, and heating. Also test the cycling thermostat, a "closed" circuit across the two large, bottom terminals, and a resistance of 2400 ohms across the two small center terminals. When you heat the thermostat the circuit should "open" at 155 dgrs. Read More...
Gil May 02, 2011 for Model Number DG612 Series 05 SN 252995 VJ Thanks. This is a series 05 so not there! Is there anything I should check if the fuse box tripped while the dryer was running ie fuses internal to the machine? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Gil. Check and see if the heater broke and grounded to chasis, or if any other wires are grounded. Be sure and check for a grounding issue at the terminal block. Also look for something inside the blower wheel causing the motor to lock up. Hope this helps. Read More...

Pete April 17, 2011 for Model Number LDG7304AAM How can I tell if the Cut off (part # AP4037135) is bad ?
1 Answer Hello Pete. You can test the cut-off with a multi-meter MA-DM1. It should read closed for continuity. If it is open, it is bad. Hope this helps. Read More...
