Brian S. for Model Number MLE20000AYW. I replaced the door boot seal on my Maytag Washer/Dryer unit. I ran it and it leaked all over the floor. I ran the washer again and watched it to see if I could find out when it was leaking. It fills with water, but then starts to shake violently when the wash cycle starts. It sounds like an unbalanced load on the spin cycle. Even when the tub is full of water it doesn't leak so it may have been coming through the door when it was shaking. I tried taking all of the clothes out and running the cycle again, but it just makes the usual whirring sound and then stops. It never completes a cycle. Is there something I might have done to unbalance the tub during the boot seal repair, and if so how do I fix it?
Answer Brian, Changing out the door boot seal would not cause the unit to get off balance. You will want to check the shocks on the unit to ensure that the tub bounces back up when you push down it. The other thing that could possibly be an issue would be a broken tub support on the rear of the inner tub. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, February 25, 2016
