Kathleen I have a Samsung front loader model WF218AMW/XAA I smelled like hot rubber shut the machine down. when it cooled I ran a light load and it did fine but I found that the door boot has tears in it at the rear. Does this sound like just the boot worn out? It is about 8 -10 years old.
Answer Kathleen, you may have an issue with the tub bearing or the spyder bracket that holds the basket. Open the door, see if there is play between the basket and the outer tub. The basket should not move apart from the outer tub. If there is movement, it can cause the basket to rub against the door gasket. If there is play, the tub will need to be removed and the outer tub assembly will need to be separated and then determine what the problem is once you are inside the tub. Read More...
