Whirlpool Owner for Model Number lg7681xsw2 How hard it is to change the door latch mechanism on my dryer? It looks like I'd have to take off the whole front to do that. Am I correct?
Answer Hello. You can actually use an icepick and dig the old catches out of the front panel. This takes some time and you will need to be careful not to scratch the unit. Once the pick is behind the catch, you press the sides and unsnap it from the front panel. Then install the new kit 279570.
