The best thing to do is clear all the water that it in it at this time and then run a clean cycle about 1 time a month to help keep the build up from occuring. There is a product called affresh which is part number W10549845 that is for cleaning washers and will help to get rid of the musky odor from it. Also when the unit is not in use do not shut the door completely allowing air to be able to get into the unit and dry it out.
