Michael for Model Number 596.72013017 Thank you so much for the quick response. After I go through those steps, and nothing defrosts in the freezer does that mean the defrost coil is bad or is it the circuit board. Thanks again!
Answer Michael, It would be recommended to test the defrost heater for the resistance of between 10 and 21 ohms. If the resistance checks ok then the heater is good. Then test the defrost thermostat for continuity. If there is continuity then the thermostat is good and no continuity would be bad and the thermostat would need to be replaced.
