Eric B. for Model Number mgr7762ws3 My Maytag range, every thing works except the oven. when the oven is turned on it has a delay then starts clicking with a strong odor of gas then turns off any ideas. I just replaced the spark module?
Answer Eric, You'll need to check or replace the gas valve WPW10293048. The gas valve has three terminals, the center terminal is the "common" circuit. From the center terminal to each outer terminal you should have a resistance of 215 ohms with the wires disconnected. with the wires reattached, and a bake cycle programmed you should read 8 to 18 volts DC across the orange and red wires from the DSI spark module. You should also have 8 to 18 volts DC across the orange and blue wires when broil is selected. If all checks OK, replace the gas valve. Read More...
