Randy for Model Number Whirlpool Acubake electric glass top Just recently when we turn on the oven we get a weird smell, kind of a chemical smell for lack of better description. It seems that as long as the element is on the smell is persistent and when the element goes off it goes away in a few minutes. Is it possible the element is going bad?
Answer Hello Randy, You should examine the unit for any discoloration of the wiring or connections. It is more likely to have a loose connection since a failing element will normally only last a few minutes. Don't neglect checking the wall outlet, the plug, and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the unit. I'm sorry but we cannot diagnose any closer without the units' I.D. tag. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, December 16, 2015
