Rick for Model Number GFG461LVBO (Whirlpool Gold) Hi-After putting on the oven, pressing START, hearing the igniter click and the the smell of gas, the oven fails to light and then attempts to re-light but does not succeed in doing so. Any suggestions what may be causing the problem? Everything else with the oven seems to be working properly. Thanks for any help!
Answer Rick, You will want to check the oven safety valve for 216 ohms resistance from Bake to common (center terminal) and from broil to common. If there is not proper resistance then the oven safety valve is faulty and would need to be replaced. If this checks ok then you would need to replace the igniter. Read More...
