Jon for Model Number WFG361LVD Whirlpool gas range (WFG361LVD) is having issues with the broiler. This always happens when the bake is already on. We'll try to switch to the broiler, hear the gas flowing, and hear 3-4 clicks from the igniter, but it often doesn't ignite. Sometimes requires 3-4 tries to get the broiler to switch on (it always does eventually). Is replacing the spark igniter a pretty safe bet, or should I do some diagnostics first?
Answer Jon, You will want to check the oven safety valve for resistance. Check for 216 ohms of resistance from the broil to common. If there is not 216 ohms then the oven safety valve is faulty and would need to be replaced. If this checks ok then the igniter would be the issue. Read More...
