John Tempo for Model Number 665.75022100 My surface ignitor is sparking, but burner will not ignite. This is my first gas range and I am not sure of possible problems? Any suggestions?
Answer John, Try this, Remove the burner cap and look down inside the orifice tube, at the bottom you'll see a brass colored fitting, the hole in the center has got to be open, you may want to take a long needle or pin and check to make sure the orifice is clear. Make sure all the venturi slots on the burner base are clear and the spark igniter has a bright white spark and "hits" in the same location. If all is OK, suspect a clogged or damaged burner valve.
