Robert H. for Model Number 665-95012102 In the installation instruction to replace a surface unit, it refers to disconnect wires from a limiter. Is this limiter included with the purchase of a new element? If not what is its part number and the cost ? What is the purpose of the limiter?
Answer Hi Robert. The limiter allows the burner to cycle safely & properly. As the burner is normally mounted, imagine it very close to the bottom of the under glass area. Then if the customers pan bottom is warped and Used on the burner, now you have trapped heated air under the burner. The limiter now senses the trapped air temperature and then cycles faster trying to keep up on the burner demand. Thus the limiter gets over worked way too fast. Being there as a safety limit so the burner does not run away and overheat or a possible fire. Burner part # WP8523047. Thank You. Read More...
