Manufacturer Part Number: WP9760013

This OEM replacement part is an oven control board. The control board serves as the main computer to the oven and controls all its essential functions such as baking, maintaining temperature, as well as turning it on and off. If the oven is no longer turning on, or there is an error code on the digital display, this could mean that the control board is no longer operable. Luckily replacing a control board is a relatively simple process. To begin, make sure to unplug the oven. After the power has been shut off, proceed to remove the upper back panel of the range. Once removed gain access to the old control board and snap it out of the locking tabs holding it in place. Take note of the orientation of the wires by taking a photo with a phone camera. Remove the wire harness and individual wires from the old board and place them into the correct terminals of the new board. Snap the new board back in place and reinstall the upper back panel. This genuine replacement part is sold individually and is compatible with General Electric, Hotpoint, and RCA brand ovens.

Carolyn for Model Number GW395LEPS00

Hello, the buttons on the control panel stopped working out of the blue today. The display shows the correct time. None of the buttons works. The oven light comes on when the door is opened, and the cook top still works. We threw the breaker and let it sit for a while, hoping to resolve the problem, but the only thing that happened is the display now shows PF, which we expected. However, we can't get rid of the PF display since the controls don't work. With the panel completely unresponsive, the oven cannot be used. What part(s) do we need to purchase to fix the problem?

Answer

Hello Carolyn. You need to check and make sure the control panel is not locked. The Control Lock shuts down the control panel pads (buttons) to prevent unintended use of the oven(s). When the control is locked, only the CLOCK, TIMER SET, TIMER OFF, and OVEN LIGHT pads (buttons) will function. The Control Lock is preset unlocked, but can be locked. To Lock/Unlock Control: Before locking, make sure the oven, Timer and Timed Cooking (COOK TIME on some models) are off. Press and hold START for 5 seconds, or until a single tone sounds, “LOC” and a picture of a lock appear on the display. Repeat to unlock and remove “LOC” from display. If the issue continues, replace the control panel W10122295.
