Linda for Model Number ED2VHEXVQ01 I have a Whirlpool side by side refrigerator, I had to replace my water filter #4396841 fast fill in my fridge on 8/14/2013. Today, my water dispenser would not work. Now, if I take the filter out the water dispenser works! Put the new filter back in , the water dispenser no longer works....Any suggestions as to what the problem is would be greatly appreciated. What do we need to do to resolve this issue?
Answer Linda, If you're sure you followed the filter installation instructions, (removed the cap, flushed and filled the filter with fresh water, and installed and twisted and locked in place). Then the issue would be in the filter housing valve WPW10121138. When the filter is installed properly it activates a valve which directs the water into the filter and out to the dispenser, if the valve isn't activated, the water won't pass through the filter.
