Leonard for Model Number Whirlpooll side by side I've always had great trouble installing the 4396841 water filter in my Whirlpool Side by Side refrigerator. I've had to call for service to have someone do it for me. He makes it look easy, but I can only rarely do it. The problem is that after I insert the new filter in place, no matter how hard I push, the release button doesn't pop out. This last time, I fiddled with it some, and it appears to be in place, but I am not sure. The button came out and the filter doesn't slide out when pulled gently. Can you tell me what I might be doing wrong? My refrigerator doesn't have a filter light. Is there some way to tell for sure that it is in place and working? I seem to remember the refrigerator making a hard to ignore noise when the repair man did it, but it didn't this last time when I did it. Should there be such a noise?
