Nancy for Model Number ED5PHAXSQ01 I have always replaced the filter with 4396841 but this time I was given another # filter (looked identical) and didn't realize it was a different # until the water dispenser would not stop flowing. Got the correct filter but the water dispenser still will not shut off when I remove the glass. Why do I have to pull the paddle forward firmly for a moment for the water to stop? I have never had this or any other problem when replacing the filter. Thanks for your help.
Answer Nancy, When replacing the water filter, it is necessary to purge 3 gallons of water through the dispenser. Until this is done the water will continue to run until the air that is in the line from installing the new filter is purged. This may be what happened and after the air has been purged it should work. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, May 1, 2015
