Laurie G. I just bought a new house and a brand new Whirlpool side by side refridgerator is in the house. I just used the water on it and it tasted horrible. There is a new filter on it. How do I make the water taste right? Do I need to run it for a couple gallons to flush it out?
Answer Hello Laurie, If running a couple of gallons of water through it does not make the water better, you may need to try another new filter. Flavors are normally from the water supply and it may take a while for the flavor to go away if there is some reason in the plumbing for the flavor. There is nothing in the unit that can produce flavors but in extreme cases, when the water has set in the unit for a long time, the tubing and water tank may need to be replaced also if the water has set in the unit for an extended period of time.
