Dee for Model Number GR9FHTXT000 Hi, the water filter was leaking water one night and flooded the kitchen floor. I eventually pulled it out and the water shut off. I put the same filter back in, but noticed that the filter cap was cracked. Did this cause the leak? I have since replaced the water filter and the filter cap, but I'm still not sure what caused the leak in the first place.
Answer Dee, The water filter cap would not cause the water filter to leak. In most cases the water filter itself will develop a crack that causes the leaking and is usually if the filter is old. This does not happen to all of them but is something to be aware of. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, September 6, 2013
