Will W for Model Number GD2SHAXMQ00 All of the documentation I have seen says that the Everdrop EDR5RXD1 is the correct water filter for my refrigerator purchased in 2004 but when I try to install it, I can not turn it clockwise to properly seat it. I believe the original filter was a Whirlpool PUR 4396918 for L400V. I'm apparently purchased my refrigerator when Whirlpool was in the midst of changing the filter design. What is the correct filter I need?
Answer Will, The filter part number EDR5RXD1 will be the correct filter for your unit. Make sure that the o-ring on the previous filter did not come off and causing the other filter to not go in place.
