Joan, Very good, You're on target. If the thermal fuse WP4451042 opens, due to an overheat situation, the control panel will no blank and the oven will be inoperable. When you replace the fuse, make sure you route it and the wiring away from the front grille opening ( above the opening as best possible, that will get it out of the high temperature airflow, and make it last longer. Also check and make sure the oven door closes and seals properly and the circulating/cooling fan comes on during the clean mode.
