Brantley for Model Number whirlpool RF302BXGW 1 Hello, I have an older electric whirlpool stove. The oven/broiler stopped working, and wont heat up at all. The heat indicator light will not turn on as well. The stove top heats up and works great. I checked the breakers and they weren't tripped.
Answer Brantly, The most likely cause of the units oven not working would be either a bad thermostat or a bad selector switch. You can test from L1 to L2 on the thermostat to make sure that there is 240 vac getting to it. If there is not then trace back through the selector switch to see if there is power getting to it. If there is then the switch is bad. If there is 240 getting to the thermostat then the thermostat is faulty. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, October 21, 2015
