Gary B for Model Number 11021302012 Just replaced the gear case in my 11021302012 Kenmore washer. It was still working but very noisy and I figured it was on its way out so I replaced with a "new" ? unit purchased online. I programmed it and put it in the test mode. Spin cycle is quiet as can be, but when it goes into wash, or agitate, it makes a horrendous noise, much worse than before. The noise follows the back and forth cycle of the agitator, i.e. noise, pause when reversing, noise, pause, noise. I assume I received a faulty transmission, as I can see no other reason for the noise in the agitator cycle? The washer doesn't agitate, but is sure agitating me..! Any other suggestion other than the suspect gear case? Thoughts?
Answer Gary, The issue with this will likely not be with the gearcase, you will want to check the splutch assembly W10721967 which will be the most likely cause. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, December 7, 2016
