The Inner Oven Door Glass is an OEM part for Whirlpool ovens. It is a crucial component of the oven door assembly, providing an interior glass layer that helps to insulate the oven and keep the heat inside during cooking. The glass measures approximately 17 inches x 10 inches.

Over time, the inner oven door glass can become damaged due to exposure to high temperatures, impacts, or general wear and tear. Causes of a bad inner oven door glass include cracks or shattering from accidental impacts, thermal stress from frequent temperature changes, or degradation over time.

Symptoms of a bad inner oven door glass include:

  • Visible cracks or shattered glass
  • Heat escaping from the oven during use
  • Difficulty maintaining the desired oven temperature
  • Unusual odors from burnt food debris trapped between glass layers

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Diane for Model Number RBS275PDB10

When I am broiling something at a high temperature the door locks up & I am unable to open it. In order to open the door, I either have to turn off the circuit breaker or wait quite a while for it to cool down then it unlocks. Have any idea what can be causing this? It seems to be a mystery to a lot of service repairmen. Have changed the control board & the door latch already. I now have a crack in the inner door glass which I think was caused by excessive heat but not sure.

Answer

Hello Diane. You are suppose to open the door to the first stopping point, or the broil position to let the heat escape while broiling. If not, you are not cooking properly for broil and the unit will lock due to the extreme temp inside the oven.
