Sonja for Model Number ET1CHMXKT03 I just installed one of the 819043 heat probes on my mom & dad heat element tonite. I have installed this same probe on my own refrigerator 2 yrs ago and it has worked great. My question is, the heat element on this fridge seemed closer to the drain hole therefore making the probe seem to go down the drain hole slightly longer than on my own fridge. I didn't trim it tho because I was afraid I was wrong about the length and would make it ineffective. How will I know if it is too long down into the rubber drain hole and possibly cause damage to the unit?? Obviously my biggest concern would be overheating causing a fire! (my parents are elderly...) A reassuring answer would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!!!
Answer Hello Sonja. It will be fine. The water cools the probe and it does not get hot enough to damage. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, October 9, 2015
