Daniel for Model Number ET1FHTXMQ03 Ice is freezing up in drain pan, tube and bottom of freezer with some water leakage into the refrigerator section below. I plan on putting in a probe and a defrost thermostat but noticed the drip pan is about an eight of an inch above the plastic bottom of that compartment. Is it supposed to be that way? Also should there be a sealant strip on the inside edges of the freezer cover plate over the coils?
Answer Daniel, the spacing can be caused by ice expanding under the drip tray which should be able to be pressed down once the ice is cleared. It is recommended that the ice is cleared using hot tap water from the drip tray all the way through the appliance down to the compressor section. The defrost drain tube in the compressor section would need to be thoroughly cleaned as well. The evaporator cover in the freezer should have a gasket WP2254360 on the left and right sides.
