Paul Ricks for Model Number kenmore 106.52012104 The defrost heater assembly that goes around the coils on the back wall , It only comes on when the freezer defrost ? if so that heater ass. also heats the heat shield and drain pan , or is there some thing else that does that ? The problem i am having is that every few days the drain pan freezes over and a long the bottom then to the floor. I have made sure that there is no debris in it.
Answer Hello Paul. There is no heater for the drain pan. You will need to make a copper probe and hang it from the heater into the hole for the water to drain.
