Dave for Model Number GEW9250PW1 I have a Whirlpool Duet Electric Dryer. The problems I am having with it sounds similar to the ones posted here and elsewhere and point to the User Interface. I just want to confirm the issues that my dryer has sounds like the user interface. The issues started a week ago when the "power on" button had to be pressed several times and would only work when the knob was set to only a certain setting. The "hold to start" button would not start the dryer when pressed and then randomly start on its own. The other issue is that the "stop" button does not work and the only way to stop the dryer would be to open the door. I opened up the dryer and made sure all the connections were good and thought that solved the issue for a minute when the controls seemed to work, however, the dryer again started by itself and the control knob and buttons again did not respond like normal. I ran the diagnostic test and everything tested normal. My guess is the user interface went bad, but wanted to seek your opinion before ordering the part.
Answer Dave, Based on the information it does sound like the user interface would be the issue with the unit. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, July 24, 2014
