Vincent for Model Number GGW9250PW0 My gas dryer Whirlpool Duet model GGW9250PWD will not power up but the light comes on when you open the door. Called a local parts company in Sacramento and they told me it was the thermal fuse. I got it and replaced it but no joy. Called the parts place and they told me their guy was wrong because mine is a gas dryer so thermal fuse has no effect on powering up. Now they say I need a new control console for over $330.00. Not sure I'm getting good intel here. Can you help me figure this out? COULD IT BE THE CONTROL BOARD?
Answer Hello Vincent, if the door switch was faulty, the control panel should beep on start indicating the door is open. Next set the control panel for time dry and 30 min, watch the display after a minute it should read 29 min left, this indicates the control board thinks the dryer is running and is counting down. You will need a multimeter for further testing. Access the main control board that is located under the top on the upper left side, start the dryer and check at the board for 120v at terminals P1-4 blue to P1-21 white if not there replace the mainboard for a faulty motor run relay, if it has 120v follow the blue wire down to the belt switch then the wiring connection at the motor.
