Richard for Model Number WRX735SDBM00 My ice maker is not making cubes it is just making ice chunks no cubes. Is it possible that the ice tray is not turning to empty ice and then when it try’s to fill the tray the water is flowing over the cubes and into the bin and just making a block on the bottom of the bin. And if so why is it not dropping the ice cubes or not turning to drop the cubes.
Answer Richard, it is likely that either the damper WPW10196393 is not closing or there is an air leak from the ice chute in the door that is causing the ice to block up. If warmer air reaches the ice and causes it to sweat, the ice will start to block up once temperature is reached again. The warmer air would also cause the ice maker to not harvest properly. Inspecting the ice door chute, as well as the operation of the damper is recommended. The ice box fan W11529245 will also need to be inspected to ensure that it is operating properly as well as it is responsible for the air flow in the ice cabin. Read More...
