Braden for Model Number ED5FHEXSL00 Recently installed a new ice maker. Left the arm in off position for 24 hours, then flipped down to on. It has yet to make any ice after another 24 hours. Is there a initiating procedure? Thank you
Answer Braden, You can jump out the ice maker to make it cycle. When it cycles test at the water valve in the back for 120 volts. If you have voltage there when the cycle calls for water then replace the valve as long as the fill tube is not frozen up inside the freezer. Remove the white cover of the ice maker. Find the markings for T and H and using an insulated jumper jump across those terminals while holding in the light switch, The ice maker should cycle, and at the end of that rotation, it should send voltage to the water valve. When the motor turns a quarter of a turn remove the jumper and it will finish the cycle by itself. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, November 23, 2020
