The Icemaker is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. It is designed to automate the ice production process, ensuring a consistent and reliable supply of ice cubes. Please note that this particular icemaker does not include a front cover or shut-off arm; you can reuse these parts from your old icemaker.

Causes of a bad icemaker can include malfunctioning water valves, clogged fill tubes, or faulty electronic controls. These issues can prevent the icemaker from receiving water, freezing it properly, or dispensing ice, impacting its efficiency.

Symptoms of a malfunctioning icemaker include:

  • No ice production despite being activated.
  • Smaller or misshapen ice cubes.
  • Leaking water in the freezer compartment.
  • Unusual noises during its cycle.

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Thomas for Model Number WPW10190965 icemaker for JCD2595WEP02 refrigerator

I bought the icemaker in July 2025. It worked fine until September 2025. I asked for help debugging and it was suggested to buy a $170 solenoid valve because it was not filling with water. Not wanting to spend an unnecessary $170, I tried the test procedure prescribed by Whirlpool. That involves jumping T&H to see whether it ejects the ice. It does not. My plan was to measure across the valve solenoid to make sure it was receiving the fill signal at the end of the cycle, but since the cycle does not occur, it seems I can’t test the valve. Whirlpool also says to measure across N&L to see if it has AC voltage. It does. I believe that means that the icemaker I bought in July is not working. Does that seem correct?

Thomas, With the icemaker not ejecting ice, check the emitter and receiver board that is located on the sides of the freezer. Push the flap on the left side and if the light continues to flash then the emitter and receiver board is faulty and will need to be replaced.

Ryan, thanks for the question. It is recommended to use only the OEM ice maker. If you don't, there could be issues with the harness, the mounting, and even the warranty.

Hello Bill, thank you for contacting AppliancePartsPros.com The icemaker's mold heater should be between 185-260 watts and the icemaker motor should be 1.5-3.2 watts.

Deborah, as the ice maker cycles, it would be recommended that the water valve is tested for 120VAC during a harvest cycle. If voltage is present at the end of the harvest cycle, and no water goes into the ice maker, the failure would be in the water valve.
