You see, the ice maker tells the water valve when to open and when to close by the use of a thermostat that monitors the cube temperature and a couple of sets of contacts that energize the water inlet valve. From the description of your problem, the ice maker motor module or the complete ice maker assembly will require replacement to restore the units' normal operation.
